This custom cigar humidor began with a simple comment — and quickly turned into a fully realized piece built to be used, enjoyed, and kept for a lifetime. After seeing my first cribbage board online, a friend casually said, “You should make me a cigar box.” That one offhand comment got the wheels turning. Instead of a simple box, we decided to surprise him—with no previews—with a fully functioning custom cigar humidor built to last.
The custom cigar humidor itself is crafted from red oak with clean, hand-cut finger joints, paired with an aromatic cedar base to properly condition and protect the cigars. The lid features a mounted hygrometer for at-a-glance humidity monitoring, while two internal humidifiers ensure consistent performance over time. Ornate brass hinges, a decorative hasp, and corner protectors complete the box, adding both durability and a classic, old-world feel.
The bundle didn’t stop there. Included was a handmade ashtray with integrated drink holder, built from maple, cherry, and zebrawood, then pre-charred and treated with beeswax for both function and character. A personalized cigar cutter rounded out the set.
