YOUR WORDS. YOUR PLACE. YOUR STORY.
Custom Wooden Signs Made for What Matters
Names, memories, directions, identities, and ideas—designed collaboratively and built one at a time in hardwood.

There Is No Standard Sign—Only the One You Need
A custom sign may welcome someone home, mark a room, give a studio its identity, remember a beloved companion, organize the everyday, or turn a private joke into something that deserves a permanent place on the wall. Because the purpose changes from project to project, there is no fixed hierarchy and no catalog design pretending to fit everyone.
Each piece begins with the message, the setting, and the feeling it needs to carry. From there, wood species, proportions, lettering, imagery, layers, finish, and mounting are developed around that particular idea.

NAMES, ROOMS & PLACES
Give a Space Its Own Voice
A name on a door can be practical, playful, sentimental, or all three at once. Room signs, family names, cabin signs, home bars, workshops, studios, and personal spaces become more distinct when the piece feels considered rather than pulled from a shelf.
Contrasting woods can make lettering stand proud of the background. Engraving can keep the design quiet and precise. Shapes, borders, imagery, and layered elements can push the personality further. The right approach depends on the room and the people who use it—not on a predetermined template.
BEAUTIFUL CAN ALSO BE USEFUL
Functional Signs and Display Pieces
Some pieces need to do more than identify a space. A sign can also hold leashes, keys, medals, challenge coins, keepsakes, or the small essentials that otherwise never seem to have a proper home.
The leash holder built for Hillary shows how function can become part of the story. Padauk and cherry create warmth and contrast, while basswood dog silhouettes, engraved names, and thoughtfully placed hooks turn an everyday landing spot into a portrait of the household pack.
Hardware, spacing, weight, and mounting are considered alongside the artwork so the finished piece is not merely decorative—it works naturally in the place it was designed to serve.

TRIBUTES & REMEMBRANCE
When the Words Need to Carry More
Memorial and tribute signs ask something different of the design. They need to recognize a life, a bond, a career, or a moment without letting the craftsmanship overpower the meaning.
A pet portrait, familiar phrase, date, emblem, handwritten detail, or carefully chosen line can become the center of the piece. Wood grain and engraving add warmth and permanence, while the layout is kept personal, balanced, and respectful.
These projects are developed collaboratively and with care. The goal is not simply to reproduce an image in wood, but to create something that feels true to the person, animal, or memory it represents.
STUDIOS, BUSINESSES & CREATIVE SPACES
Make the Identity Feel Handcrafted
A workshop, studio, office, or small business sign should feel connected to the work happening behind it. Existing logos can often be translated into hardwood through carving, engraving, layered species, or contrasting inserts. New concepts can be developed around the name, atmosphere, and visual character of the space.
The result can be bold and immediately recognizable or restrained enough to complement an interior without taking it over. Either way, the proportions, legibility, wood movement, mounting method, and viewing distance all matter just as much as the artwork.

FROM IDEA TO HARDWOOD
Precision Tools, Hand-Finished Results
CNC carving and laser engraving make fine detail, repeatable lettering, portraits, and layered artwork possible—but the machine does not decide what the sign should become. Layout, wood selection, grain direction, depth, contrast, edge treatment, sanding, assembly, and finish all require judgment before and after the cutting begins.
That combination of precision and handwork keeps the finished piece clean without making it feel manufactured. Small variations in grain and color remain visible, which is exactly what gives a custom wooden sign its character.
Designed Around the Message and the Setting
Every decision supports the finished sign: cedar, cherry, maple, walnut, Padauk, basswood, or another available species; engraved or raised lettering; portraits, logos, silhouettes, dates, borders, and layered imagery; natural contrast or added color; concealed, hanging, or functional mounting. Interior placement is the starting point for most pieces, and the intended environment should always be discussed before material and finish choices are finalized.
You do not need to arrive with production-ready artwork. A clear idea, a photograph, a phrase, a logo, a rough sketch, or even the story behind the sign is enough to begin the design conversation.
