This one was meant to remind someone she wasn’t alone.

Jamie is my niece, and when she received a cancer diagnosis, the world shifted in a way that words never quite capture. I wanted to make something for her — not to fix anything, not to explain anything — but to quietly say: you have a support system, and it’s standing with you.

That intention shaped every decision.

The heart wasn’t chosen as a decorative symbol. It’s a metaphor. A form that represents connection, protection, and presence — something that holds, something that stays. The idea was to create a piece that could sit nearby and speak without needing explanation.

Purple Heart was chosen deliberately. Its deep color, strength, and durability felt right for what this piece needed to represent. It’s a wood that holds its character over time, growing richer rather than fading — a quiet reflection of resilience.

The engravings were just as intentional.
On the front, Jamie’s name curves above a sunflower — a symbol of warmth, hope, and the instinct to keep turning toward the light.
On the back, words meant only for her — a message she could return to on the days when reassurance mattered most.

This wasn’t just about making a box.
It was about making something that could carry love, encouragement, and presence in a tangible way — something small enough to hold in your hands, but strong enough to say: you are never facing this alone.
