Roslyn — Firehouse Humidor Bundle

After seeing Jack’s humidor, Roslyn approached us for a similar project. She knew from the start that she wanted the piece made from Black Walnut, and that the ashtray would feature the IAFF logo. Initially, she considered placing the logo on the humidor cover as well, but ultimately decided against it.

Instead, Roslyn chose something far more personal — a replica of her husband’s new firefighter helmet shield, laser engraved on the lid.

Once we heard that, we took the idea to the next level.

Roslyn provided a photo of the actual shield she had purchased for him. From that reference, we recreated it using three separate layers of thin leather, each a different color, precision cut on the laser. The layered leather shield was then inlaid into the lid, with careful planning to allow the hygrometer to seat cleanly through the cover, blending function directly into the design.

The humidor itself features finger-joint construction for strength and longevity, along with corner protectors, ornate hinges, and a decorative hasp. Inside, the lid carries custom laser engraving, adding another hidden layer of detail for the owner alone. The humidor includes dual humidifiers and rests on a black walnut base, completing the centerpiece of the bundle.

The full bundle was rounded out with a collection of personalized and handmade accessories, including a custom engraved lighter and cigar cutter, a handmade ashtray with integrated drink holder crafted from cherry and maple, featuring a charred ashtray basin and a dedicated slot to hold a firefighter challenge coin. A custom 3 Dogs Woodworking frosted beer mug completed the set, tying function, personalization, and craftsmanship together into one cohesive gift.

Designed as a Christmas gift celebrating a well-earned promotion to Lieutenant, this humidor bundle is more than storage — it’s a tribute to service, pride, and craftsmanship meant to last a lifetime.
