On the Bench: A Look Inside the Workshop
This is where ideas become objects. In the Workshop offers a behind-the-scenes look at how pieces at 3 Dogs Woodworking come to life—from rough lumber and digital design concepts to finished, functional heirlooms. Designs are often developed directly in the shop using CNC and CAD-based workflows, and in some cases shared as concept views from active Easel project files.
Not every project can be shown here; many builds are personal, private, or intended as gifts and remain unseen until they’re given. This is not an Etsy shop—each piece is made individually, at its own pace, with intention, precision, and a story behind it. Items are not made ahead of time or kept in stock.
The project below is one example of the kind of work that happens in the shop.
Featured Product: Cutting Board

This cutting board is coming together as a gift built with intention and patience—thick, heavy, and designed to be used for years, not tucked away. The layout blends White Wenge, Wenge, Purpleheart, Zebrawood, and Maple, arranged to balance contrast and grain movement without overpowering the eye.
Each strip was surfaced, aligned, and glued by hand before being carefully planed to final thickness. The result is a board with real visual depth—bold hardwoods framed by lighter edges, with a bright maple center that anchors the design.
A personalized name burn on the side adds a quiet, personal detail—visible when the board is lifted or set down, but never distracting from the work itself. Pieces like this are built one at a time, guided by the materials rather than templates, meant to be used, shared, and remembered.
CedarGlow… Coming Soon

Something smaller is taking shape on the bench—quiet, deliberate, and built around the natural warmth of cedar.
Details are intentionally held back for now—this one needs a little more time on the bench.
CedarGlow pieces begin with simplicity: clean lines, soft edges, and wood chosen as much for how it feels and smells as how it looks. These are slow builds, focused on balance, restraint, and the way scent, light, and material work together over time.
More to come as the next pieces take form.
